;D I have found inspiration in this site! I have a husband and 4 kids. We have always wanted to go to Disney World. Our kids are all getting to the age where they can really enjoy being there. Only two years ago, I was diagnosed with a disabling genetic disorder, that at least one of our kids have. It was a disheartening blow. Before that I was a nurse. The last year has been one of the hardest in our 12 years of marriage! Now that things are starting to look up, I stumbled on this site. I had started couponing last month and something clicked! It's fabulous! This site has been an inspiration! We have not had a family vacation, or any type of vacation really, in YEARS! SO my husband and I talked about it and we started "Operation Rescue the Fun" ;D We want to go in November, but November of this year is to soon to have money saved and get time off of work, so for now our tentative date is November of 2012. I opened a separate savings account and right now it has in it $64!! And in the big picture that doesn't seem like a lot, but to me, it's one step closer to fun! I can't wait! ???Any tips to make this the best ever, and save more money quickly would be greatly appreciated. I would like to go sooner than a year and a half, so if anyone has any tips, I am all ears!!

That is a great first deposit!!! One thing that has helped me increase our fund is the loose change. It really adds up fast. I am sitting with $638 in my fund now that was started Jan. 1. $138 of that is just from loose change. When ever I use cash I break a dollar and then take the change and put it into a vintage Mickey coffee canister and take it to the bank at the end of every month.

awesome first deposit. Sorry it has been a rough year. I also agree with saving the loose change as it adds up fast. Also do you have a bottle depot that you can bring in your pop bottles etc? if so we do this and that money adds up fast also we have friends/co workers that don;t want to bother going to the depot so they give us there bottles, it helps.

Sorry about your health issues, but what a fabulous idea... and I love the name of your fund! Great start, good luck!
I enjoy doing surveys so signed up with a few places and add that to my Disney fund. So far in 2011 I have earned $346.79 from online surveys, and another $225 from things like Viewpoints (reviewing products online), Swagbucks, and a Hallmark panel. That's almost $600 of free money!

Woohoo! Another unexpected $39!!
Up to $217..
But also discovering that the size of my family means I have to up my anty and save more than 3500... Looking at at least 5000 now... We have 4 kids. Will be 4000 for base prices and then 1000 for extras/food to have a decent trip in Pop Century... Booo.
So: 217/5000...

Good deposit. I have a larger family too so I can feel you pain! One thing I always do is over budget on everything. That way if I make my goal I gotta a little wiggle room. Hopefully there will be some awesome deals out there when you get ready to book.

No circulars coming out this week means no need to buy a paper! $15 deposit that I would have spent on papers.
$232/5000

Found Money: Nice surprise today! The dealership we bought the van from sent us a $25 dollar check for a refund. Apparently we overpaid on our tags. Woohoo!
$257/$5000
The price of this trip has been tugging at my heart so much these last couple of days. I know that once we get taxes back next year and I save, we'll have enough, but I have NEVER spent so much on a trip before and I can't help but think what other things this could be used for... Anyone else ever feel that way?
But, never-the-less, I have already bought some mouse ears hats from ebay, so I am locked in, committed... Hahahaha. Disney here we come.

To me a Walt Disney World vacation is worth every penny put into it! I know how you feel about thinking of other things to spend that money on. Start another small fund that would be seperate from your vacation fund that you could use on those things. You are doing a great job at saving.
