It is hard to spend thousands of dollars on a vacation> when we went to disney and spent $7000 or there abouts i had no regretts after the trip but before the trip i kept thinking that is a lot of money etc. The money could of been used for a down payment on a house, but after i was there i thought other wise. It is so worth it to see the smile on the kids faces and they are only young for a bit so that made it all worth it

I went for the first time to Disney World in 2009 and immediately thought that everyone MUST experience this at least once! I can totally understand the feeling of wanting to apply the money towards more logical things, but sometimes we just have to pursue the magic, esp. when we have small children. WDW truly is an amazing experience... those logical things will still be there, lol... aren't they always?!

Before I started Couponing My Family and I Saved for 5yrs $5000 with 3 kids and 2 adults we saved our loose change any B-day monies anyone recieved and the kids went out on recycle day ( Thurs here ) And collected tons of cans. They asked before taking and before long everyone was more then willing to help us get to WDW. We had two rooms at Pop and loved it. We also were able to get 40% off the rooms and then they still let us have the free dining helped so much. Now for my 9 yr old the kids meals were not enough but the adult meals were way to much for me so I shared with her. so it all worked out. Mind you with the discounts and $5000 we spent 2 full wks at WDW and came home with $450 : ) We gave the kids 2.50 a wk for spending money the last 6 months we were saving. they had to work for it though. and they used ONLY that money to buy things. Took them to the Disney outlet and Wal-mart there where they were able to get souvieners alot cheaper. We don't own any credit cards since we pid them all off so we got the Loadable Visa at Wal-mart and were able to pay for things that way like airfare and such.
We have one more kid now she was born christmas day and now we are saving to go again when she is old enough to enjoy. And next time we will take the time to enjoy other things in Orlando area also. Like Sea World

Took out Tithes and offerings for God's blessings! This certainly would never be possible for us without Him! =)
I have quite a bit of change and a few bills collected up in the change jar! Have to get some change rollers to deposit them! Can't wait!
We made a little progress towards our yard sale collection, so hopefully soon that will be added. Have done poorly with our food budget this week, so that won't be added. Try again next week.

I was a little bummed today to find out that you can't buy Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex cafe gift cards with the Amazon gift cards. I thought if I could do that it would take care of a few meals, and Swagbucks is definitely awesome for the Amazon gift cards... Oh well. Time to rework that one.

For us, the price of the Disney trip seemed so unreal. We kept thinking that we could have paid off our last vehicle loan with the money but I stood my ground and we went and everyone loved it!
It is money well spent!

So disappointed... Have recently been forced to empty out the account due to the recent string of emergencies we've had from broken water heaters that required major upgrades and replacement, to flat tires, to my daughters poor little leg, to sudden unexpected school expenses... Everything hit us this week. I have for sure learned a thing or two about needing to create a whole new fund just for emergencies to keep this one from being drained.
But my husband has promised we can replenish all $317 plus interest (haha) when he gets paid on the 1st.
Booo hooo.... What a crazy week.

I know where you are comg from. We had to depleate our fund earlier this year due to family health issues. We are back on track! It is great that your dh will let you put the money back in the fund with interest.
