Well, the garage sale went ok. My little man was great all things considered! Thanks for the tips. He was happy for quite some time with the iPad to entertain him. We only made $57 so it was slower than I expected. We thought there would be more traffic since there were about 20 people set up there, but it's over 100 today so I think the weather may have played a part. It was supposed to be 7:30-noon, but I couldn't stay past 11. My little one was so hot and tired so we packed up and went home. I may try one more garage sale at home in the fall right before we have to pay off our trip or try to sell the remaining items on Craigslist or the like. And either way, there is now $57 in our Disney fun that we wouldn't have had otherwise and less stuff in our house!

Great deposits! $57 is still $57 you didn't have before. We sometimes take our stuff to the flea market and if we're close to $100 we consider it a good day.

Thanks! Very stoked about the bunk bed being sold. We didn't really have room to store it so the space & the cash are nice!
$150 - Payroll deduction $3 - Pinecone Research
Total Deposit: $153 Total Savings: $1,004.7!!!!!!!!
Hit the $1,000 mark!!! So stoked! My husband got a small time in service raise so instead of the $50 I normally put in the fund from this paycheck I put the $100 difference as well. Hubby & I agreed this is what we'd do with the difference. I transferred it as soon as we got paid so we weren't tempted to spend it! I have to get back into my survey routine. I've been so busy with everything going so I need to make time for them.

Just found out we have orders to move in Dec. My husband is supposed to execute on the last day of our Disney trip! Thank God I got insurance! Looks like the trip will be postponed. I think the Disney fund might be a moving/new house fund. We have a lot to figure out over the next couple of days with our house and everything, but I think Disney is a no go. I'm so bummed! But excited to move! Please pray that our house here sells in time for our move!

So sorry to hear this. I most certainly know how it is to be ready to go and something fall through and you can't.

Thanks ladies! I plan to still save for the next four or so months until we move, but my husband and I talked last night and just don't think it's financially wise to take the trip with the move. Bummed, but he says we will save to go next year. So I'll save as planned and I'll use what we need for the house, but plan on saving for a trip in 2013. I've been working on tons of Disney projects too so I'm very bummed about these not being used as planned. Hopefully the shirts I made still fit next year! At least the other items are easy to save until we actually go.

I understand. We are thinking of postponing our October trip with friends just because of uncertain health issues with my hubby's parents. Keep on saving and maybe you can do Disney bigger and better!

I'm sorry to hear that Tanya! Hopefully we can both do Disney bigger and better if we don't get to take our trips this year!
We did some math and either have to rent or the kids and I have to stay while DH moves until the end of the school year so we don't lose money on our house. (We've only owned it a little over a year.) I still have to talk to a realtor to confirm some details and we have to get final confirmation in a week or so on his orders. We, I should say, I am still flirting with the idea of Disney if we don't all move in Dec, although we would have to change the dates. We'll see! I'm sure it's a little bit of wishful thinking. In the meantime, I'm continuing to save!
