Blah, I just wrote down all of my student loans: $6439.70 @ 6.8% - $2767.91 @ 6.8% (this was just under $4800 in January..have been trying to get it paid down) - $2477.32 @ 6.0% - $1981.86 @ 6.0% - $4459.18 @ 5.6% - $2597.54@ 0.47% - $2597.54@ 0.47% - $1652.86 @ 0.47% - $1239.66 @ 0.47%
Cannot wait for the 6.8%'s to POOF! Disappear!

tanya - It is especially ugly when you have to lay it all out, like I did above... OUCH!!!! But at least I now have a better sense of the debt enemy!!! lol, once things settle down w the house fund stuff, I will develop a plan of attack to slay this debt monster!!

Tanya - I hope so! I know I get periodic rate reductions by having the payment direct debited. Crunched some numbers and made an extra $300 payment toward loans. Went to my last homebuyer's workshop today and am in the process of scheduling my affordibility meeting - the next step toward our own house! Very busy this week with moving - lease is up Thursday so between work, meetings, and packing, it's been hectic. Hurt myself at work so relying on my fam a lot for moving help :/ I don't like it, but it's necessary. Also, spending time today drafting an updated budget.

"$2767.91 @ 6.8% (this was just under $4800 in January..have been trying to get it paid down) - "
With the updated percentage rates I posted about, this is still one of my highest interest loans at 6.50% - I do have one at 6.55% that was 6.8% but the higher balance discourages me.... I have managed to get this one down to $1900 from $2770 since June 2nd. It was like $4800 or so when I began... I plan on paying this one off completely then gearing up to tackle the biggun - $6500 @ 6.550% ... That one scares me, but cannot wait to have it GONE!!!

Thanks! Trying to stay focused.... Opened the 3-2-1 account through Dollar Bank with $300 from my checking account. That's the account that I have through the Credit Enhancement Program, which helps 1st time home buyers. Once I hit $1000 in that account, Dollar Bank matches it with a $3000 grant to be applied to my homebuying expenses (fees, down payment, etc). I can make one deposit each calendar month so aiming to have set aside $400 for August and finish up with $300 in Sept. We just went on a trip to Baltimore to see Inner Harbor and the aquarium, so now it's time to buckle down and watch the finances again..... Must stay focused!!!
