UPDATE! June 6, 2012 couponingtodisney.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=disneyfund&thread=268&page=1#3078We're now going in November instead of October. Click the link above for some cool details. Original Post:We'll be taking a car (my brother is driving us) to Anaheim, CA to visit Disneyland in October of this year. Me, my boyfriend, our son, and my brother (possibly my brother's friend) will be going. We have not decided how many days we will be there or if we will get park hoppers (likely). I've been meaning to post my fund for months. So far we're around $400! Woohoo! I have no idea what my goal is because this is my first time budgeting for a Disney trip. All the other times, my Pop paid for it. Wish me luck! I've been exciting about it for months and we have many more to go!

I love Disneyland, but we live on the east coast now so we do Disney World. Growing up in L.A. it was a part of my childhood though. I would price out tickets and hotels to set your budget. I feel like the Disneyland resort hotels are very pricey. A friend of mine goes and stays at a nearby hotel. I think it has something to do with candy in the name. (Random I know, but I'm blanking on the name!) You can price restaurants and everything online too! Good luck!

Depending how old your son is you may want to look into a character meal at Goofy's Kitchen. We did it once when I was younger, although I was an early teenager and my brother was in around 5th/6th grade. It was a ton of fun and I've enjoyed taking my oldest to character meals too!

We now have $240 in the Disney fund. How did it get so low? Let's just say... I purchased our parkhopper tickets and booked our hotel! I know what you're thinking, it can't be that cheap. Well, it wasn't. Here's what we did... 1. Bought a gift certificate for Hotel Menage at a discounted rate through a local auction. (2-night stay for $155) 2. Bought 1-day park hoppers before the price increase (Thank you for the heads up, Kristen!) 3. Borrowed some money from my car fund. 4. Oh and we won tickets to Medieval Times!!! Yeah! P.S. We'd LOVE to add a day at Universal Studios Hollywood to our trip. The only things left to pay for are the hotel's $50 deposit, $10/night parking ($20 total), $15 shuttle, $15 Universal Studios Parking, and the Universal Studios tickets ($276). It's possible that we might not make it to Universal but I've got my fingers crossed that a miracle will happen. A friend of mine goes and stays at a nearby hotel. I think it has something to do with candy in the name. Sounds like you're talking about Candy Cane Inn

Yes, it was Candy Cane Inn! My friend recommended it to me when I realized how darn expensive the Disneyland Hotel is. I'm an L.A. native and that was quite the shock!
