I have met my savings goal for Disney!! So I am starting in on my husband and little girls trip to Pennsylvania. They are going while I am in summer classes. But they LOVE amusement parks and it will be cheaper just the two of them. I also take her somewhere for a girl's weekend every year and he never has (I am selfish and don't like to be away from her ;D) So, the are going to Delgrosso's, Lakemont, Idlewild, and Kennywood for one day each. They are driving and will stop on the way there and on the way back. He has talked about stopping in Ohio and doing the zoo and such on the way there (can't remember now which city). They will stay in a hotel on the way there and back, but would like to find somewhere to camp while in PA. I have budgeted: $198 for tickets (although there are sometimes specials) $250 for gas $350 for food (probably high, that is $50 a day but they will be eating in the parks) $450 for lodging although I hope that this is high if they find somewhere to camp I am not planning for spending money for my little girl because she will take care of that herself with allowance and such. My husband is not really a big shopper either. Total- rounded up $1250 Starting point 0/1250 They plan to go in early June. I hope to save as much "found" money as possible by then. I am not sure if it will be the whole amount but I am hoping with a yard sale, a consignment sale and rebates I will put a dent in it. My husband is also working on his grandfathers house and getting paid some to do that but he is a teacher and a daddy and doesn't have a lot of extra time to put into it.

Maybe he is talking about the Colombus Zoo. I think it is one of the top rated in the country. It has been many years since the last time we were there. My grandparents lived about 45 min. east of Colombus and we visited every year. My son was 2 the last time I got to take a trip to the Zoo with my grandpa and grandma. He's 14 now and how I do miss them both.

Added the first $5 to the fund today. I received a $5 gift card from Starbucks. After Christmas the Christmas blend went 70% off and I had coupons, making it really cheap. There was a deal if you bought three you got $5 back on a gift card. I always get Starbucks on black friday, so it may hang around until then, but hey they don't expire so it counts!
$5/$1250

Hubby got another check for work done on his grandfather's house...we have more than made our goal! He is trying to do this trip as cheap as possible and use whatever money is left over for a bluegrass festival in June.
On to the new Disney fund...
