Hi All,
We came across Couponing to Disney and absolutely love it. We have gotten so many ideas. It has become a daily routine to check the site for ideas and suggestions. We are using them to save our goal of $3500.00 so we can finally go on vacation as a family. Wish us luck. And, good luck to all who are trying to do the same.

We officially opened a vacation fund with the $33.06. Before we go to bed we empty our pockets/purses, looking for loose change, and put it in the piggy bank. I have also started putting any singles in that I have been getting from breaking larger bills. My hubby drinks a 24 case of beer per week. So, I have purchased cans instead of bottles, and started collecting them to turn in for cash. I don't know yet what the going rate is. It'll be fun to find out. I am doing the same for diet coke. Plus, I have been tearing off the tabs for the local blood bank. We started inventory for a yardsale. The profits will be added to the vacation acct. LOL, we started timing our showers, 5 min. tops, to save on the water bill. There is a lot that we have changed. It's become a game for the four of us. Each week we are writing down a goal, hence the shower goal, and encouraging each other to beat it.
Thanks for the positive comments.

We took cans to be recycled before our trip in December and made $50 but we had bags and bags that had been in my faither-in-law's storage building. I have a small pile of cans going now for our next trip sometime in 2012. I also collect all the change in the house. I have a coffee canister that we bought years ago at WDW that I throw it all in. It usually adds up to about $30 a month.

Wow. This is slow going. We deposited $36.00 in change and $4.13 refund from Ebates. We all agreed that any money given for Christmas will go into the vacation fund, so that'll make a huge difference. I started selling some things at a local Consignment Shop. I had to use the money earned so far for household expenses, $64.00 to be exact, but I will replace it. I also promised myself that I would just take any future profits straight to the bank so I wouldn't be tempted to spend it. I also started babysitting my neighbors daughter. That's $90.00 a week. So I hope with all these ideas the money will grow faster.

Kerry - It may not seem like much, but those pennies and dimes add up faster than you would think! Hang in there and keep your eye on the prize!

Thanks for all the positive comments!!! I have been reading through some other posts and found myself inspired to pay off my credit card debt as well. I have roughly $1200.00 in C/C debt. I would love to have it paid off before I graduate in June. I am thinking that I will apply the $90.00/wk I make babysitting to that amount instead of the disney fund. This will help us out more in the long run. I will start doing this the first week of Jan. If I stick to the plan I should be debt free by mid-April. Afterwards, I will resume applying the $90/wk to the disney fund. Thanks for the motivation.

Ok. Back on track. We just deposited some more money into our account the other day. We have $185.70.
Nationwide Refund $50.00 Ebates $4.16 Survey's $10.00 Rebates $2.50 Recycling Cans/Dishwasher $15.00 "Found Money" $ 104.04
We signed up for MD Farm Bureau Membership, so we got a d/c on our Nationwide Ins., giving us a refund of $50.00. The "found money" is pocket change and singles from larger bills. This is getting exciting for us to check our mail and see the refunds rolling in. We have taken our grocery bill from $250-300 per week to $75-100 with coupons and sales. This has helped us a great deal as we were behind on a couple of bills. We anticipate being in the green by the end of Feb. Good stuff. I am not sure why I didn't coupon all these years, but better late than never. We are more encouraged to stick to our budget and pay off dept. It's refreshing to say the least. Big hugs to everyone on this site trying to work toward their goal.
