I wanted to see what apps couponers are using on their Android phones to help them locate, track deals.
I just found SMOOPA (smoopa.com) which is a new app. You scan an item and enter a price and it gives you a comparison online and locally. The local info is pretty scarce as it relies on user input and the app is pretty new. As a collective group if we use it we will generate local data for area retailers to show us who has the better deal for specific products.
Some products will present you with a $.50 or $1.00 off offer (that really is more like a rebate). You have to redeem the offer that trip, take a photo of your receipt, and upload it and you account is credited.
A history for particular stores and particular product is generated. This can show you procing trends for items.
We will be using in the Odenville / Moody / Leeds / Trussville / Highway 280 area at Food Giant, WalMart, Target, Publix. We would like to see others join in so we can collectively generate / hare data.
One deal that is savings us $15.00 because of this app is a Wii game I scanned that was $29.99 at Target but $14.99 at Wal-Mart!
