Woohoo! I have some debt I need to pay off from when I got sick before and hubby got laid off. I feel horrible about it and really want to pay it all off. I have approximately $5000 or so that I need to pay off. I am going to do this in steps though, with the most important bills first. My first bill is for me having to drop college classes when I got sick. This bill is a little under $700, so that is my first step so I can get back into school ASAP to better myself and my family(and make more money to pay off more debt) Wish me luck! I would like to get this bill taken care of by 4/11(or sooner). I am putting in a realistic goal as we only have 1 income so it will have to be from what I make on survey sites or babysitting on the side.

Good Luck! Babysitting is a great way to pick up some extra money. My hubby works full time but I stay home and babysit (more than full time). Depending on your availability, if you are willing to babysit for people with odd work schedules, they always need home child care since centers are not open or would charge full time fees for part time care. If you are interested I could share the websites with you that I have used to find little ones to watch.

That would be great if you would share your information. I am currently in the process of getting registered(they require anyone watching kids from more than one family to be registered here) and am only babysitting for friends for a few hours here and there. In the very near future, I want to do full time to help supplement my husbands income. I got my books for the classes and started taking the classes today, next to do CPR and then get my house babyproofed again. I have 4 kiddos, 3 in elementary school this year so i figured that this would be a good time to start sitting full time. Plus, the bus drops the kids off practically in my driveway so I don't really have to worry about picking them up!

I have used sitters.com and sittercity.com. Although I have had some success with both, the best I have done is through craigslist. I was leary at first about posting there for babysitting but, at the suggestion of a parent I used to watch twins for, I gave it a shot. Sometimes it takes a while to get a response but, other times I have been overwhelmed with people and turned so many away! If you ever have any questons about anything let me know. You can email me anytime. kelly.krewson at yahoo.com

I am going to be making my 1st deposit tomorrow towards my debt fund..hehehe, so happy! I babysat this past week for friend and normally she would have paid me $25. However, 2 of my kids and myself all needed haircuts and guess what she is--a hair stylist. hehehe, so we traded babysitting for hair cuts, so I will put the $25 out of our normal money into my fund as I would have spent it anyways if she didn't do it. Now I will say though, my haircut itself would have been a lot more than $25 as she shampoo, cut, layered, highlighted it, blow dried, and then styled it for me.
