My 17yo daughter asked to go to Big Lots on Sunday when we were out. While she was shopping, I took a look at their grocery section and was surprised to find some great deals on pantry items at stock-up prices! I went back to the front of the store to get a cart!
I can't find my receipt so I might be a little off on my prices, but here's what I remember. I got FIVE bags of groceries for $21!!!
Canned diced tomatoes - $0.50 each Canned tomatoes with chile peppers (Rotel-style) - $0.50 each Pure vanilla extract - $3.00 for 7oz Brown Rice - $1.30 for 2 lbs Dried Black Beans - $0.80 for 1 lb Minced Garlic in Oil - $1.50 for 8 oz jar (These are "off" brands but I used the garlic, tomatoes, and vanilla so far and have been pleased with the products.)
Big Lots does not accept manufacturer's coupons, so I never think of shopping there. I joined their "loyalty" club and the cashier told me that the store would be emailing me a 20% off coupon some time this week that can be used on one day only - July 18. I'm going to go back and get MORE pantry staples on that day for 20% off!
Please let me know if you know of better deals on similar products.

Sounds like some great deals! I don't believe we have a big lots around here - but I have been shopping in one out by my grandmothers.
