This is so exciting! Let me introduce myself first. My name is Vana Khachatourian and I am 20 years old. I started couponing about a year ago, to help my parents spend less on everyday things we use. I have build a small stockpile. Unfortunately, I have a loans equaling to 11,000 dollars and it will grow a lot more. I do not have to pay off anything until I am done with college, which gives me about 2-3 years to save. My goal is to save 10,00 dollars in the next 2-3 years, so I can make pay off a couple of my loans before I start giving payments. My father also saved 5,000 dollars for me and I will also be using that to pay off some of the loans. I am hoping to get a job soon so I can save quickly. So I am starting off with the 5,000 from my father and the 500 I have saved up so far. Starting point: $5,500. Wish me luck!

I just had my birthday party last night and all I could think about is how excited I am to save all the money I got! So, I will be adding 800 dollars to my savings!! Woohoo! I also got a $50 Wild Pair shoes store gift card. I wish I could sell this one to plastic jungle but they don't buy it. The heels they sell are way to high, I guess I need to cross and fingers and hope for wide low heeled shoes! I also got a $60 GGP Shop etc. gift card, which I can use at all the malls in my area. This gift card makes me very happy!! I also got a $15 dollar P&G rebate!! As of today I am at $6,320. I still have $3,780 to go.

Hi, Vana! I also am working on paying off college debt. Have you looked at the terms of your loan? If it is in deferment but still accruing interest (pretty common set-up), it would make more sense for you to start mailing them whatever you were able to save each month now if you are able. You will save a TON of money in interest! Just a thought. Best of luck with your goals!

Hello Patty, thank for the advice! I will looking into that soon, but I am not sure I can do that. All my loans are federal loans, so I am not sure if that option is available. I hope, I can do that though!

I just got $120 dollars from my chase freedom credit card!! There is a promotion going on if you spend 500 in the first three months, you get 100 back! also there is 5% cash back on groceries and movies. I have been putting all the groceries on my card and then my mom gives me the amount she would pay at the register instead. I have been paying off my card every month, so it really is a bonus $100 I have deposited in my account.
So far I am at 6,806, I have 3,194 to go!!

Hey Patty, everything has been okay. I had some unexpected medical expenses i had to pay for. So my budget is a lot smaller than i though it would be. the good news is that I have two part-time jobs. So I will be saving as much as I can. After I pay for the rest of my tuition (that my loan does not cover) then I can save as much as I can.

So I haven't been on for a long time, but I am back and ready to take on my debt and student loans.
I have about 1,500 CC debt that I need to pay off. Most of this debt is from my tutition and books for this new semester that starts tomorrow. I also recently moved so I have been buying bedroom furniture and a lot of new items for my room from Homegoods. I plan to give around $100 to $150 a month for my CC Debt. Hopefully, I can add some more. The only good thing about this is that I have the Homegoods, TJ Max, and Marshalls CC so I will be getting a $30 reward to spend at any of the stores I choose.
I also contacted my student loan provider and asked if I can make payments while I am at school. The good thing is that I can!! So I will be directing at least $50 to my student loans each month. Hopefully, when I am done paying of my CC debt I can give around $150 a month.
