Hi! I am Angela, mom to 3 girls..Remy (12), Holland (6) and Koi (5mos). Early this year my husband and I decided we wanted to move to Orlando..mostly for better job opportunities. We live about an hour away now so it's not a HUGE move, but our current town is nowhere as busy so it will be an adventure! We are hoping to have enough to move by the end of this year (while the kids are on winter break in December). We had put away 1500.00, but our car needed some repairs last month so we are down to 53.00 now.
I just started couponing, doing rebates, surveys, etc this month so I am hopeful it will help plump it back up. I also have a ton to sell on Ebay and all profits will go into the fund too..I used to sell on Ebay full time (made over $10 thousand a year lol) but I quit in 2007..there is A LOT of catching up to do over there with all the new rules lol. I look forward to learning more on the site!
Our goal: $3000-5000 Saved so far: $53
Wow, that looks so weak lol..

It is not weak at all. I am starting with the .10 (yes 10 cents) in my paypal account. We all have to start somewhere.

I love your kids names! Good luck with the move. Next year you will have to start a Disney Annual Pass fund!

Hubby already promised we'd get year passes after we move lol.
At the beginning of the month I dropped off some of the girls outgrown clothes at the kid consignment shop I use...just checked my acct and I made 13.74 so far! I plan to cash out my sales at the end of each month and deposit the money in savings. Hopefully it adds up and I sell more lol.
I also forgot that I started doing that Upromise thing earlier this year..I always scan my cards and finally checked the balance online and it is at 28.42!
Not alot but hey, every penny counts!

UPDATE on our progress:
We have been trying to save, but like always things seem to pop up..hubby's hours cut at work/kid's needed almost $1000 in dental/med/back to school costs...you know how it goes grrr...
BUT..today I was checking the state website to see if my child support that was due next week was going through ok (we have had issues lately) and guess what?! $3700 of the over $5K owed in BACK child support went through (I already transferred it to savings lol)!!! Apparently it has been there the entire month of August but because we use a separate bank account for child support I didn't think to check it until the next month's money was due!!! Plus..We didn't expect to get it until at least Oct since the state told us they would hold the money they took from my ex's income tax for 10 months before releasing it to me!! OMG, I am so excited lol!!!
We now have $3200 in savings toward our moving costs!!! I feel kinda sick now lol..

Good start! What town do you live in now? I live about an hour away from Orlando too We are in Ocala right now..our county leads in unemployment in the state. I can't wait to move, I lost my job as a MA after I had my baby earlier this year when the Dr office I worked in closed down..it's ridiculous! If I want a job as an MA I have to go all the way to the Villages (an hour plus from my house)..if I am going to go that far I might as well move to Orlando you know?! Being out of work for the past couple months has really slowed down our savings, so I am so happy we got some of the back child support my ex owes..it's been a loooong road to collect some of it lol!

I hope things have started looking up for you! Crossing my fingers you found a job close to home!
I live in Tavares, which is in Lake County, so not too far from you. I also know that all the jobs around here are in The Villages, and I personally could not stand working there(I would never make it to work with all those crazy drivers).
I have been looking for a job for close to a year now, and finally got hired part time, at no other place than Disney world!! About a 45 minute drive taking the backroads, but there is just nothing here.

I am NOT a good updater, but here is where we stand right now lol:
I THANKFULLY got a part time job, wish it was full time, but beggers cant be choosers u kno! It is only 15min from the house too..still are planning to move though since it pays horribly lol..
For our moving fund we currently have 7500.00 saved! I also paid off the 1300.00 in debt that was from my previous marriage (stupid ex had my social so he opened accts online in my name..of course we have a court date now...jerk). Plus my husband and I paid off the kids dental "debt" of 1500.00...spacers are expensive lol..plus I have a nice stockpile of "stuff" going...
I am happy with our finances right now..without coupons/etc though we would still be in debt!
