Ugh what a frustrating month financially. Less money coming in because of unpaid medical leave, ex is 4 months behind on child support, and I needed the washer repaired. Thank goodness for my emergency savings. Ex says he will pay me 2 months worth ($500) on Thursday and I should have my first "regular" pay on Friday. My goal for January to build the emergency savings back up to as close to $1,000 as I can get! So don't expect great strides in debt repayment this month. *sigh*

It's always good to have an emergency fund so you don't get into even more debt! Keep plugging away!

Still chugging... it's amazing how expensive one little injury can be - between lost work, medications, an ER visit, two dr appts, and $500+ in physical therapy copays.... not to mention, ordering in and eating out a bit more because I couldn't lift my "cooking" arm... lol! Oh well, it's behind me and nothing I can do but move forwards!

Emergency fund at $800 right now and will be back up to $1,000 soon. I worked 8 hours of extra time last week and 6 hours of extra time yesterday. It will def help some for sure! I want to get these medical bills paid off before I worry about applying extra to the student loan I am working on, so may not make much of a dent this month.

Thanks, Tanya! I have paid $300 toward the $517 medical bill and called to arrange to pay the balance off on 2/15. I made a teeny extra payment toward that student loan.. just under $45. Every bit counts!

After lots of long hard thought (and three years since his passing), I decided to let go off my engagement band and use that money towards our current life/future. It was enough to pay off one loan in full and to help fund a trip (which he would have loved because he always teased me about never travelling. Hard, but needed... and ready to continue with my life.
So this loan I have been chugging away at is now paid off... and I have also put $400 towards my next loan, leaving a balance of $300.
