Hi! My name is Whitney and I am married to a wonderful guy and have almost grown daughters (19 and 15). We went to Disney this June because my husband got a fantastic bonus and we were able to "Pay In Full". We can't count on THAT happening again, though!
I have been super excited about being able to track my Savings here that I didn't even think about setting a GOAL amount! So, I'm just going to post my Savings since June 1st and come back later with my 'game plan'.
Money Saved 6/1 - 6/30:
$170.90
Savings included Pinecone Survey payments, Overpayment return from AT&T, taking back shirts my husband didn't need for business trip, $ found in my shorts from last Disney trip (sweet!) and $7 found cash! The remaining amount is cash value of the coupons I used this month. (i.e. cereal coupon for .50 is recorded as .50 saved; if doubled at grocery store I will enter $1.00 savings).
I look forward to seeing how other people save and record their savings!

I also bank the amount of coupon savings each week! It can add to your fund very quick! One week I banked $83 in just coupon savings.

Sounds great! I am doing the same thing with coupons. If we start now, we should be enjoying the World this time next year!

I was wondering are your daughter's going. I noticed in the video that anyone over 18 you would have to pay for an additional adult price. Do you knwo anything about this.

Wow - I'm sure you have found your answer by now but Yes, we had to pay the adult price for my 19 year old this year. It sure stinks - she's still a "kid" to me!

Goodness, I was sooooo excited when Kristen added this area (heck, I was one of the first to sign on!) and yet it has been two months since I updated!! Shame, shame, shame on me!! However, I have been saving and recording the savings in a little book my bank gave me. It's so cute - it's supposed to be used for debit card charges, but it is just the perfect size to record my Disney Savings in! It sits open on my desk so I have easy access. I do want to update everyone on our progress here though! To date, 6-1-10 through 8-19-10 (which is when I made the last deposit) we have a grand total of $554.97!!! I simply cannot believe it! My savings are based on face value (or doubled value if allowed) of the coupons I use, rebates, refunds and survey payments. I figure if I've purchased something and returned it - well, that is 'found money' to me. For example, I was paying weight watchers monthly but I had already reached my goal weight (lifetime member) and wasn't supposed to be paying. WW refunded me $39.95. That money went into my Disney Fund. I am completely amazed at the fact I actually save this much by couponing. As 'they' say, it's not savings unless you SAVE it! Now for some bad news - my wonderful, wonderful DISNEY Fund might actually have to turn into NEW ROOF Fund. We have leaks and desperately need to have a roof put on before the rainy season. We are over 1/2 to the cost - but I'm afraid we are going to have to bite the bullet and throw this money into it. I'm holding out as long as I can. I'll let ya'll know.

I understand. We have had to dip into the fund before also. Had to help the inlaws and it took us down to $15 but we have been building it up. Hopefully things will work out and you won't have to touch your fund!

@whitsend - doesn't it always seem that there is always a wrench or two in the plans!? Hopefully you won't have to touch this money, but if you do, just keep in mind that it's going towards a need. Not a closetful of shoes.. Stay positive - Things will come together in time.

Hope you don't have to use your Disney money for the roof... but if you do, you know you can get right back to saving for Disney soon!
