My family is planning a Disneyland/Hawaii trip for next July, 2012. I completed my masters degree last March and my husband will be finished with his masters degree this June. So it will be our celebration vacation.
We will leave July 17, 2012 for 2 weeks. We are planning on staying at the DH for four nights and then flying to Hawaii and spend the rest of the time there.
My family (me-43, DH-43 and DD-5) spent last Christmas at WDW and completely loved it!!!! So we had to have some Disney magic during our next vacation.
I am planning on saving $10,000 dollars for our trip. Yikes!!! Both my husband and I are teachers, so we will be using couponing, surveys, and any other activities we complete during the school year as ways to save $ for our fund.
It was my birthday yesterday, so I placed 200 dollars of birthday money into the fund.
So, we have saved 200/10,000. It seems like an impossible amount to save but we can do it!!!
Any advice on how to save more money would be appreciated!!
I love this site!!! ;D

You go!! I just went to Hawaii with my husband. I loved it. We would love to take the trip that you are doing. We are running into the same issue cost. I am not sure what we would be looking at. What island are you going to? And are you doing none stop flights or going through a travel agent. I preferr going to islands then cruises because you are on your time. But Hawaii is spendy. We plan on going again soon.
Good luck. Teresa

That sounds like a wonderful trip. I am hoping to head out that way myself for my 25th anniversary. I may have to convince the DH that this is the teip we need to take!

Thank you for all the encouragement!!! Deposited $10.00 (PayPal) from MySurvey. 210/10,000 Still a LONG way to go but every bit counts. I am working on selling some textbooks using Amazon and selling some of my daughters toys on ebay....wish me luck! One question....how do you make and post a ticker?

If you click on one of our tickers it will take you to the site. To post you go to your member profile above then click on modify profile. There is a section about halfway down for signature. Once you make your ticker, copy the URL and paste it into the signature spot and click modify profile at the bottom of the page. You can do more than one.

jamaica4god--Thank you for helping me make a ticker. My husband got a 500 dollar check for having a student teacher so that will go into the fund. Also, I received another 10 dollars from MySurvey. So...we have 720/10,000 saved so far. I would like to save about 900 a month. We can do it!!!!
