Made a more than minimum payment today on the dehumidifier of $75. I almost could have paid it off this month...but I'm thinking there might be a big heating oil bill coming up so I want to be prepared for that.

Nifty - it's a great idea to plan ahead for possible expenses, like your heating bill. Have you set aside any money into an emergency type fund?? That would keep you from having to finance every time something comes up. It has saved me more times than I can count.

We do have an emergency fund...and I guess I just hate to use it when I finance something @ 0% and pay it off slowly. I know that isn't the best strategy...but I just worry that too much would come up at one time (like my dog's $1300 vet bill a few years back). Our emergency fund is not large since we have quite a bit of debt to pay off, and I just like to preserve it as much as possible. We are "okay" financially in that although we live paycheck to paycheck, we have no trouble making our monthly payments and we live pretty frugally. We'll get there

Just paid off the Home Depot Card...I'm still thinking I will probably have a few hundred dollars to throw at the Best Buy card as well...but waiting until the end of the month after all other bills have been paid to see how big of a dent we can make

I'm not getting this paid down as quickly as I would like to. We've had some unexpected things come up, but we are working on getting on a strict budget. We had success in the first month (more or less), but are finding it difficult to stick to the grocery budget because we tried to start our budget when we had very little food stockpiled, so we are struggling. I have a little extra money coming to me this month, so I will be using that to build a bit of a stockpile. And we have a big oil bill coming this week...I'm thinking to the tune of $500-600. Ouch. I'm still feeling overall positively about what we are doing - things just aren't going as quickly as I would like.
