today is a new day for us in the Dryer House-hold on Friday my husband and myself saw a financial an adviser because we needed a referee (we fight every time when we sit down and talk about our debt) we bought every single bill that we had and showed it all to him. I was almost in tears because I was so scared of what he would say. For the last 8 years I have been the person in charge of the money and have soothe myself with shopping. Hubby got deployed went shopping, hubby didn’t call went shopping; hubby wanted a guitar I bought the best one. Dh needed a outfit I bought 5 I had always blamed him because he like to spend but taking a step back I have come to realize that I am part of the problem as well…. WOW that was hard to say….O.k so on to the debt, I posted only our credit card debt because that is what I really wanted to focus on and if I saw all of the numbers I would get discourage and feel like I was a failure… So here it is (gasp)
1st premiere $201.00
Capital 1 $443.00
s-Capital 1 $660.00
Capital 1 $683.00
Credit 1 $895.00
Applied Card $1,123.00
Student loan $1,950.00
Pioneer $4,861.75
Star $5,996.00]

I sat there in the middle of his office in total and complete tears ashamed of what we had created and couldn’t bare to look at my husband it has been 3 months since we started this whole process of trying to get out of debt and every time my husband had said we need outside help and every time I had said no we can handle it. The FA (Financial advisor ) looked at me and said tell me where u want to be in 5 years write them down.
1.Be completely out of debt
2. Have my Masters in Business
3. Buy a house
4. Be Happy
5. Be Healthy
The next thing that came out of his mouth was I can help with 1 and 3 but the rest is up to you he gave us a really simple plan. 1. Stop spending, 2. Get a realistic budget 3. Talk to each other about money…
So we went home and got right on the computer and made a spreadsheet for the new plan all the way up until March (that is when we get the last Army paycheck) we are tackling on thing at a time Star is the first on my list.

So the 1st one is off the list to get a plan. Saturday was the first time that the hubby and I sat down and didn't fight about money and the plan.
I called my step-mom after all of this and just balled and told her about it all and how I wanted to get the last class of the A.S done so that I could finally start my B.S she just sat there and listened an didn't say anything. On Monday I looked at the account and there was 1,000 extra in there and I had no clue how that happened. I called my husband immediately and told him about it he said check ur e-mail and there was an e-mail from my dad telling me how proud he was of me and that the 1000 was a early graduating gift for my A.S and that I had to use it on school and nothing else. I was so happy and now I am about to get off of here and register and pay for my last class for my A.S so that next semester I can start my B.S..
