Hello everyone:
I am new to this site and this forum and am very excited to start "couponing my way to Disney" A little about me: I have been to Disney many times over my life as have my 5 older children. But now I have 2 year old twin girls and I cant wait to take them to Disney. We are planning on April 2012 for their 4th Birthday.
Here is my question, I want to of course stay in the park and give them the full adventure, but I am curious about the Disney Bahamian Cruise for 4 days.
Has anyone been on the cruise, I know its expensive but was wondering if its worth adding into my trip I want the first Disney trip for my girls to be memorable and special. This trip will only include myself, my husband the twins and my step son who will be 13. The other kids are as they say "too old to go to Disney with their parents"
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Kim

We have never been on a Disney cruise but we just so happened to talk to a former Disney cruise performer over the weekend. He has been on a regular cruise (such as Carnival or Royal Carribean) and he stated that the extra money put into a Disney cruise was more than worth it. My hubby and i will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this november and are seriously considering doing to Disney Cruise.

Disney Cruises are the BEST, especially if you have children you cannot find better kids programs. They have something for everyone from morning to night and your kids will cry....when you pick them up from the kids programs and make them spend time with you! The Bahamian cruise is wonderful, it stops in Nassau and at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay-which is truly paradise! You can ride bikes, snorkel, snorkel with Stingrays, get tubes and rafts and float around all day! The cost of the cruise is more than worth it, the food is fantastic, you can't beat the entertainment and onboard activities...you feel the "Disney difference" from start to finish! (What other cruise line announces your family when you board the ship and has a receiving line cheering for you!?) There are "Teens Only" clubs on the Disney ships, there are places for them to listen to music, watch movies, play video games, board games, a coffee shop type setting, a dance club, etc. There is a keyed entry for the Teen clubs so only the teens (and the counselors of course!) can get in! So you don't have to worry about their safety and they don't have to worry about being seen with mom and dad!

I did the 4 day land 3 day cruise and loved it. I have been on other cruises and I would pay to go on the Disney cruise again. My husband is not sure about the cruise. But he knows that I LOVE Disney. The only thing that I did not like was I did not have my children. I am debating on taking the cruise or doing universal. The new ship is suppose to be awsome. Good luck with what ever you choose.

Well after weighting all options we are finally choosing DISNEY CRUISE over UNIVERSAL> I am so excited. It will be on the Disney Dream. 4 days. That means I have to save more. But it will be worth it. I can't wait ;D ;D ;D ;D

I hear nothing but great things from Disney cruises. We are planning our first Disney cruise with our daughter in 2013. We tried to go on one last summer, but they book so far in advance. They are worth the extra money. Plus you can generally get some good ship board credits when booking through an authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

Disney Cruise Line is fantastic. While it's true that you should book in advance to lock in the best rate, there are great savings on last minute cruises as well. You'll want to search (or have your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner-like me!) do it for you. There are even GTY rates on the Disney Fantasy for sailings in April. The terms and conditions are a bit different than your regular DCL guidelines but the savings is worth it! To save $1,000 or more for your family to cruise is a nice deal! While onboard credits are great, you'll find that a good TA who's available to you to answer your questions (trust me, you'll have a lot) is worth far more than an onboard credit. So beware of the big agencies that are offering large onboard credits-it's likely they'll get your booking and you'll end up in a pile somewhere with no personal attention. There are many things a TA can do for you that are far more valuable than just an onboard credit so talk to your agent about what perks you can get!

Disney cruise line allows you to bring unopened bottles of alcohol on board. Also cases of water. This can save you a ton of cash. Just make sure you take it on your carry on for the ship.
