This will be the first time to Disney for my husband and I and our two kids. We are also bringing along the grandparents for the vacation (2 grandmas and 1 grandpa). We are planning to go in mid Feb. We had originally planned to use $ from saving to pay but now I'm determined to pay for as much as I can from couponing, rebates, "found" money, etc. Our kids 7 and 9 are really on board with the saving money and keep me on track when at the store. We are planning to stay at POP and were thinking about the dining program also. Total trip is looking like around $7000 for the 8 days (coming from MN and WI). Any thoughts on dining plan would be appreciated. Funds so far: $51.00 (rebate and return premium from insurance policy)

How exciting for you all to have your first trip to WDW!! You will love it! As for the dining plan, depending on your dates that you plan to visit, you could get the Quick Service Dining Plan FREE!! Check out disneyworld.com and look at Special Offers for more details and dates that apply. A Disney World Cast Member told me that as long as you arrive on a date that Free Dining applies to, it will cover the entire length of your stay! Good luck with the saving and Congrats on your trip!!

Happy to deposit $45 into fund from rebates. Getting ready to make the final plans for the trip and reservations. Looking like second week in Feb. Feel slightly guilty with taking kids out of school but I think they can actually learn a lot there.

I don't think you should feel guilty about taking your kids out of school! Even though it's a vacation spot, there are many things they can learn from (especially in Epcot! ) You are doing great!! By the way Laurie, your ticker is not showing properly. I had the same problem at first. Use the "Ez code" instead of the html code you are using so that it will show on the forum here. Have a great day!

WOW has time gone by. The trip is set for Feb 11th-17th with all kids and grandparents onboard. Total in fund has grown to $257. Great to know that the "extras" will be covered and not have to put them on a card.
