I went to Kroger last Tuesday, the last day of their latest Mega Sale, and got the following:
- 4 bags of Chex Mix for FREE (99 cents on sale, plus a printable coupon for $.50 off which Kroger doubled) - 3 bags of Gardetto's for FREE (99 cents on sale, plus a printable coupon for $.50 off which Kroger doubled) - 1 4-pack of 6oz Yoplait yogurt cups for 0.79 (1.79 on sale, plus a coupon for $1 off)
I got the yogurt because the Mega Sale requires buying 8 items, and I only had 7 usable snack coupons (because Kroger will only take up to 3 identical coupons in a transaction). The Mega Sale deal was "buy 8, get $4 off", so while Kroger does not normally do overage, I did get overage in this transaction because the $4 off was listed as a separate line item on the receipt. (In other words, the Chex Mix actually rang up for $1.49, then the coupon brought it down to $0.49, but when the $4 were taken off the total purchase, it effectively brought the price down to $-0.01.)
I don't understand why an additional 10 cents were taken off, bringing my total down to $0.62, but I won't complain! :-)

Thanks! I am currently still having to work full-time, so I don't have as much time for couponing and bargain-hunting as a lot of the SAHMs on these blogs ... so I don't often have a brag like this. The only thing I wish I'd done differently is gone earlier in the week. Maybe I would have gotten my favorite yogurt flavor (strawberry) instead of what they had left (key lime) instead. Oh well ... :-)
