Hello! I'm starting to plan a trip to Disney for Sep 2011. I love the idea of setting up a Disney Fund, and can't wait to get started. Do you book your trip in advance and pay it off with your Disney Fund? Or do you wait until you have enough and then book it? Isn't it cheaper if you book it in advance? Any advice appreciated! Thanks

I'm sure everyone does things their own way or what works best for them. I save and usually book my trip as soon as I know for sure the dates I plan to go. For instance, I know I am going May 29th of 2011 so I already booked my vacation online at DisneyWorld.com when they made the schedule available for booking. I only paid the $200 deposit for now but I will use my Disney Fund money to make a payment towards my balance every month or so (you can call Disney to make payments anytime- you're balance has to be paid in full by 45 days before your arrival date). As far as it being cheaper to book in advance.....that's not necessarily true. The rates just went up August 5th and it is usually an annual increase so the biggest concern about not booking in advance is getting the dates you want. The past several years I have booked several months in advance and then when/if a special offer comes up that applies to my travel dates I have called as soon as I could to switch to the money saving offer. The Free Dining Plan offer has already been released but others should follow soon! Do whatever works best for you. Hopes this helps! Others will give their advice too and we are all here to help!

I hardly ever book directly through Disney World. I either use AAA or ELF travel. Both have always gotten me great deals! You do normally need a good deposit down. You can usually call if you see a better deal after you book and get that deal. I know both AAA and ELF travel have done it for me. ELF is on facebook and they are part of a Disney site...not owned by Disney, but just more Disney enthusiasts.
