we are a family of six heading to disney for chirstmas. my hubby just returned from a deployment this year, and our disney vacation had to be pushed to christmas.. we have a timeshare that we can use for our "hotel" we want $5000.00 in our fund . (we are not holding back from doing anything and getting what we/kids want) this will be our first offical vacation as a family ever (the oldest is 15 and youngest 7) . I calculated that we have 126 days until we leave.. so if i did my math right we need 39.68 per day.
since i am new to all of this and couponing. i am starting off saving my reciepts for the day, adding up the savings and putting that much in the account.
today i saved $81.34

we are going in december as well (dec 17th-24th)...looks like we might be there at the same time! we are also using my husband's aunt's timeshare (the Wyndham Bonnett Creek Resort) so we're definitely saving on lodging (can't complain about staying for free!!) this will be my mine and my husband's second trip to Disney together (but it's the first trip with our new baby, who will be 10mos in Dec. ). When we went together last summer we kind of did what y'all are doing this time, as far as saving enough to do/get as much as wanted since that was our first vacation since our honeymoon. Besides couponing, what other ways are saving $$ for your trip? I have found that for me, babysitting is the fastest way to build up our fund...We started saving at the end of June and we already have $520 in the fund (our goal is only $1000 this time). Good luck!!

First of all I want to thank your husband for his service to our country!!! We will also be there for the Christmas Holidays. We will arrive on the 19th and leave on the 1st. I also add up my savings with coupons, bonus buys, etc. That is a fast way to grow your account. Another thing that I do is to save all change. Break a bill every time you shop with cash. It has averaged $10 a week for us! Good luck with your goal and God Bless You!
