I just got back from my first trip to Disney. I knew that I would love it (and I did) and started my 2011 fund on May 1st. I am leaving hubby at home and taking my mama this time. She has never been and I think that she will love it too!
I am thinking October. I have mixed feelings about taking my little girl out of school for Disney, but do not want to go in July again! It will be myself, my little girl (she will be 9 by then ) , and my mother. We will either stay at Pop Century or All Star Movies, and will probably do the deluxe dining plan. We will not be doing the park hopper or water parks. We are driving and will have to break the trip into 2 days. This year we stopped at Lake Winnie (an amusement park in Tennessee) and it was a ton of fun so we may do that again. I plan to do 8 days in Disney with 6 in the parks, no tickets for arrival or departure day.
How I am saving: rebates (just got into this, Thanks to this site)
coins, swagbucks (also thanks to CTD), mypoints, priority club points, pnc points, coke rewards (sometimes they have gift cards or priority club points), "found money", upromise account, e-rewards, and right now I am helping my mother declutter her house for a fall yard sale. We are taking the yard sale money and putting it towards lodging. I also have the disney visa for the rewards and $32 in gift cards from this past trip.
Ok, so getting to it.... my budget for now (could be revised since it is so far out) is $1668. Kind of a random number I know. Our last trip was $2500 including the overnights for the drive. I divided this number by 3 figuring $834 per person. I will be paying for my little girl and myself. This number is not exactly accurate as she will be cheaper than me and my mother and I will be splitting the room 50/50 but it was a start.
Right now I have $229.55 in the fund! Mostly from various rebates. I also have enough mypoints to get a gift card to t-rex but have not cashed it out yet. This is going to be so much fun! What a great motivator. Thanks for the fantastic tool!
