Patty, you have inspired me...I have always dreamed of a stable home, we rent and well, ya know how that can be. We have a very fixed income, but I have looked into different accounts and found one that if you meet your savings goals at the designated times they reward you! It is up to 300.00, so I am definitely getting involoved with this. I believe you are doing such a great job, you will be there before you know it! Go, Patty!

Woohoo! Congrats on deciding to save for a home. It's a big goal but I know in time, we can do it!

Well, things have kinda been on hiatus. I was in a car accident on Dec 30 and my car was totalled. Luckily since I had been paying a little extra, the money from my insurance was enough to cover the loan balance plus some extra. I finally got that check maybe 3 weeks ago. So I went car shopping. I managed to find a 2009 Nissan Sentra with 17K miles for a reasonable price. Used the insurance check, my tax refund, and some extra cash I had in my savings acct as a down payment. I did NOT have to touch my house money - WHEW! So the car is super reasonable - 174/mo for 36 mo at 3.5% APR. Also, I just started a nursing job on 2/14 at a local hospital. My first ck is tomorrow so I can develop a financial plan once I have more info to work with. Everything is coming together

I also need to start plowing into this student loan debt. It's my highest interest rate debt (a portion of it is at 6.8%, some at 6.0%, some at 5.6%, and some at 0%-yay!)

Another $500 to the house fund - gonna have to move sooner, rather than later, it seems... SO, all extra money is into the house fund for a bit.

Bobby just took 3 dollars in change to add to the "House Fund" jar. I ♥ this kid and his generous heart! If anyone deserves to have a stable place to call home, it is him!

Looking in the 75-85K range and 20% of 85K is 17K. I am adjusting my goal to reflect that
