We had an awesome time on our WDW trip in early December '10 and really want to go back soon. I did well saving for the trip and most of it paid for before we left. But, before I can start saving to go back, I need to take care of some "stupid" debt.
I'm going to be paying off a credit card using: Ebates checks, money from returning cans/bottles, money from our budget, grocery savings each week and any found money. I am also taking on some extra work. I'll have exact totals soon. The faster I can do this, the faster we can go see Mickey!

I am with you on that one!!! We just got back from our trip to Disney!!! I am just like you with needing to pay off some crazy mistakes that we made early on in our marriage. I am getting ready to start two different funds.......one for our next trip to Disney (October '11) and a get out of debt quick fund!!!

So, the goal now is to pay-off a $2,800 debit that I stupidly let happen. Will update at end of month with what I accomplished in Jan.

January didn't go so well, kinda of. We had some unexpected expenses during the month. I was able to pay them out of the budget and what I had saved for the credit card payment so I didn't have to use savings or put the expense on the credit card. Which is good. But it meant I only paid the minimum of $75. February is looking much better already. Heres to a good month!

In Feb paid $450 toward the debt. I paid for some school PTO expenses and some of the $450 was that reimbursement. The rest came from some extra work, Ebates refund, and I-say check. Have picked up a new client and spring break will bring some extra work , so I'm putting that all toward the credit card. yah!

We ended up with this balance when we got Disney Visas. The idea was to take advantage of occasional deals they offer card holders for vacations and to earn some random "dream dollars" The plan was to put everyday expenses on it and then transfer that amount from checking right over to the cc. Well, DH started using it for EVERYTHING and I didnt keep track of that. So we had money leftover in the budget, which I used for other debt and whoops! had nothing for the Disney Card. So I took the card away from him and now we're paying it off. But, saving enough for our December WDW trip inspired me to take care of this, and some other debt, before focusing on another trip.

Havent' posted in a awhile! Hubby wasn't so on board about paying this off, but after a little discussion he is now! The current balance is $1,452 and it should be paid off by 7/1. Then its on to other debt! Extra payments have come from rebates, extra work, found money and money out of the budget. When I have money to transfer from checking for a payment, I've started rounding up the amount to the nearest 5 or 10. Don't miss the few extra dollars here or there but it will add up over time!

Didn't make my 7/1 goal, but I'm very close! Current balance is $138! Should recieve payment for some extra work this week and I'll use that to pay this off! Woohoo! The remaining $ from the extra work will go toward the next debt we're tackling.

That is great!!!! We are still working on some of our debt also. We hope to be debt free with the exception of car, house, and student loans by the end of the year.
