I am going to start again, this time saving for a trip for the whole family (2 adults and 2 kids). I assume it will be in 2012, ideally fall. I have no idea on where to stay or really how much I would need, but I am going to start by setting my goal at $2500. We would probably need more if we stay on property (my goal), pay for 4 plane tickets, maybe rent a car, and have to pay for dining... but it's a place to start! I will start with deposit #1... $36.44 - $3 from Pinecone Research
- $18 which I wanted to spend at Target (cool ornament storage bins for my bazillions of glass ornaments) but decided to stay home and not spend a dime!
- $15.44 from Quick Rewards
Gotta start somewhere!!! I hope to save for the trip using a combination of things - money I make from kids clothing and toy consignment sales, Internet surveys, coupons, rebates, and rethinking impulse purchases. I am also hoping to put myself on a better allowance and will deposit the remainder (if there is one!) each week. I realized I spend WAY too much and really should be able to go to Disney any time I want, I just spend the cash on silly things!!

I finally went back through my rebate pile and filled out two which should bring a nice $75 in when they arrive... my contacts and Prilosec OTC. I also went through and totaled up funds requested from surveys which have not yet paid out... Combining rebates and survey payout requests, I will have another $135 headed my way sometime in the next month or two. woohoo. Now I need to scour the house for kids' stuff to take to my spring JBF consignment sale, I have done well in the past and want to make at least $400 this time around.

Best of luck to you! I am going through our house right now for a spring yard sale...my mom is participating too...that is going to be the bulk of it actually!! She still has a big hanger full of belts from when we lived there (we are in our 30's now!!) I don't think that we will have a problem paying for the bulk of our lodging!!

Zoemariesmamma, good luck with the yard sale! I had one the past two summers but am not going to do it this year, since I sell my kid stuff at a different sale/time, I don't have much left to sell and don't think this time it will be worthwhile. But yard sales can be BIG money makers!! And kind of fun if you like to people watch!
Added $12.15 from coupons and bag credits for using my own shopping bags. So that brings me to: $85.93/$2500... only $2414.07 to go!

I got a $5 check from Opinion Outpost and am adding $20 from my weekly "allowance" since I have been REALLY good with not buying unneeded things. So now I have passed the $100 mark. Woohoo!

Last time I saved I was going to track my coupons and put that money saved into the fund, but then I did so well with other things I removed that money. This time I hope to stay onsite in a Disney property and there will be four of us, last time it was just my daughter and me and we stayed with friends at their Bonnet Creek condo. Anyway, I need more $ so the coupon cash goes into the pot this time around!
I am adding $9.35 from Quick Rewards today... $149.06/$2500... only $2350.94 to go!

And today I am adding $18... I have been going to the Disney Store website and putting a few things in a cart then deleting them... over and over! My 3.5 year old wants something for his birthday... with is 5 months away! They are on sale now, but the reality is he will probably change his mind by the time his birthday rolls around! So I am going to put the cash into my fund instead.
$167.06/$2500... only $2332.94 to go!
